Empowering the Next Generation

Flying an airplane can be an incredible experience, requiring great discipline, focus, and responsibility. For at-risk youths, it can be a life-changing experience that can provide a sense of purpose and open-up new career paths.

FPL is honoured to partner with Eagle’s Wings Flight School, a non-profit organization committed to helping young people find their passion for the aviation industry. Through its Flight for Success program, Eagle’s Wings aims to provide a positive, empowering experience that helps youths to build confidence, self-esteem, and self-discipline.

Congratulations to the 2023 graduating students representing Long Plain, Birdtail Sioux, and Roseau River First Nations.

Each graduate received:

  • Personalized flight instruction from experienced pilots and ground school training.
  • Knowledge about various aspects of aviation, including navigation, aerodynamics, and weather.
  • Learned in-demand job opportunities in aircraft maintenance, air traffic control, and piloting.
  • A star blanket created by the women of Dakota Ojibway Child and Family Services to celebrate the achievement of learning how to fly.

Together, we can create a world where every child can spread their wings and soar high. For more information on Eagle’s Wings Flight School and how you can be part of this initiative, visit https://eagleswingsflightschool.ca.
