2024: Celebrating an Incredible Season

As we bid farewell to another remarkable season, it’s time to reflect on Team FPL’s extraordinary accomplishments. This year has set new benchmarks and milestones, underscoring the exceptional talent and dedication that drive our team forward.

Expanding Our Fleet

One of the highlights of our season has been the expansion of our fleet with the addition of three new AT-802 aircraft. This strategic move ensures that we continue to lead the charge in aerial firefighting and treatment application across Atlantic Canada, enhancing our ability to respond effectively to emergencies.

Answering the Call

In response to interprovincial wildfire efforts, Team FPL proudly deployed our assets to Alberta, Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador. Our crews worked tirelessly to protect communities nationwide while maintaining our commitment to safeguarding our home province. It’s all about being there when it counts the most.

New Milestones in Field Operations

Our field operations team has achieved remarkable feats this season. They set a record by treating an impressive 64,400 hectares in just one day and completing projects an astounding 13 days ahead of schedule. These accomplishments are a testament to our team’s precision, efficiency, and unwavering expertise.

Prioritizing Safety

At Team FPL, safety is our utmost priority. We continuously strive to enhance our safety standards—this year, we introduced new training programs for YFC fire crews focused on FPL aircraft extraction techniques. Our goal is to ensure the highest safety levels for our personnel and the communities we serve.

Building a Stronger Future

In our pursuit of operational excellence, over 30 members of the FPL team have completed Yellow Belt training as part of our Lean Six Sigma initiative. With our sights set on Green Belt certification, we are committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement that empowers our team and enhances our service delivery.

Celebrating Personal and Professional Milestones

This season has also been a time of personal growth for many of our team members. We celebrate milestones such as Canadian citizenship, welcoming new family members, and pursuing education and training to expand skills. These achievements reflect the strong, supportive culture we foster within our team.

Thank You to Our Partners

As we reflect on this season’s successes, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners, especially the Government of New Brunswick and the Wildfire Management Branch. Your support has been invaluable in helping us achieve our goals and continue our mission.

Here’s to the successes of this season and the many more to come! We look forward to continuing our journey together, ready to face new challenges and make even greater strides in the future.
